This briefing document outlines some examples of what Russell Group universities are doing to support disadvantaged students during Covid-19 and maintain their widening access and participation activities online, as well as providing mental health support and guidance.

This includes initiatives such as:

  • tips and seminars on social media
  • food vouchers and grants for care leavers and estranged students
  • laptop grants and loan schemes
  • online and distanced mentoring
  • virtual teacher conferences and open days
