Committee of University Chairs' Remuneration Code

Responding to the publication of the Committee of University Chairs’ final guidance on senior remuneration, Russell Group Chief Executive, Dr Tim Bradshaw said:

 

“Russell Group universities recognise their responsibility to help rebuild public confidence in the way in which senior pay is awarded. The Russell Group is strongly committed to establishing processes which are transparent, independent and which ensure that remuneration levels are justified and able to withstand robust scrutiny. 

 

“To sustain world-class universities in the UK we need to be able to attract and retain exceptional individuals to senior positions and we welcome acknowledgment from the CUC of the demanding nature of these posts.

 

“Many of the principles set out in the Remuneration Guidance issued today are already being practiced at Russell Group universities and they will reflect the final Guidance in their individual arrangements.”
