Russell Group response to consultation on the de-designation of QAA as the Designated Quality Body in England

07 March 2023

On 8 February, the Government launched a consultation on the de-designation of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) as the Designated Quality Body with regards to higher education in England.

It came after the QAA announced that it will no longer consent to be the designated quality body (DQB) after 31 March 2023. The consultation was specifically on de-designation, not who should be the DQB in future. Government has said the Office for Students may consult on future arrangements.
