Raising attainment, improving advice

Selective universities such as Russell Group members strive to identify the best and brightest candidates for their courses. In practice this means a raft of initiatives to raise aspirations and attainment in schools, as well as pressing for better advice and guidance for students, as the Russell Group made clear in its evidence to the Panel on Fair Access to the Professions. The panel produced its final report in July 2009. A number of Russell Group universities were cited in the Panel's interim report on good practice as well as the final report.
