Dr Wendy Piatt appointed to BIS advisory panel

Commenting on her appointment to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills advisory panel on ‘New Industry, New Jobs, Universities and Skills,’ Director General of The Russell Group of Universities, Dr Wendy Piatt, said:
“I am delighted to contribute to the work of this panel in a personal capacity. We must work to make sure that British industry, universities and colleges emerge from recession even stronger in order to keep the UK globally competitive.
“Now more than ever, our universities have a crucial role to play in helping the UK survive the economic downturn and stimulate a recovery. They also produce the high quality graduates essential for business and public services as well as the fresh thinking the government is looking for.
