Higher education participation statistics

28 September 2017

Commenting on the publication of new Higher Education participation statistics, Russell Group head of policy Sarah Stevens said:

“Higher education is a path to social mobility. The fact that young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, are more likely than ever to attend university is good for students and good for the economy.

“Building on this progress requires continued investment in teaching, facilities and efforts to widen participation. A sustainable funding system that is fair for students, taxpayers and also lets universities plan with confidence for the future is a vital part of this process.”
