Julie Tam

With a first in economics from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) and MA in economics from Stanford University, Julie has previously worked at HM Treasury and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS), where she was an economic adviser working on science, innovation and knowledge exchange, responsible for overseeing the department’s portfolio of research to inform the development of science policy. She was then a senior consultant at SQW Consulting.

Research policy, including the development of the Research Excellence Framework (REF), concentration of research funding and the strategic direction of investment; the post-graduate experience and research careers; quality assurance in universities.
